A cute and somewhat sad story of an autistic girl and her dog. This realistic contemporary nails it on the reactions and actions of a child with asperger's syndrome.
Rose a young girl diagnosed with Asperger's has received the best gift, a dog she names Rain. As someone who is obsessed with rules and homonyms Rose's life must go on in certain ways. So when Rain goes missing in the middle of the storm its like everything has stopped for Rose.
The only complaint I have about this book is that it ended way too abruptly. I wanted more of a resolve with Rose's father and even her uncle. I suppose with it being a juvenile book it isn't bound to get too in depth.
As my brother has asperger's this really hit home and is a wonderful story for children to read.
