I really loved The Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls. But Patrick Ness's new book just didn't really do it for me. It's not terrible per say but it felt a little too all over the place for me to really enjoy.
Mike, his sister and their friends are wondering what's going to become of them in four plus months after high school graduation. Will they be friends? Will they stay in touch? Will they even be alive? With the disastrous situations that are happening around the world Mike can't help but feel their time is running up.
I did like the relationships and I did really like Mike and his sisters. What I didn't like? The fact that it felt to mixed up to either be a dystopian or a contemporary. I think I would have liked this more if it stuck to contemporary and left out the disasters and the weird Indie kids. Might just be me.
Not my favorite by Patrick Ness but I'll continue to read his upcoming books.
