Shadow and Bone Book Review

Shadow and Bone - Leigh Bardugo, Leigh Bardugo

Swoon, I have a new ship. I totally loved this audio book unlike the audio for Six of Crows. Not as many characters and easier to follow when listening to it. Definitely a new favorite author and a new favorite series. As much as I loved Six of Crows, I think I loved this one more.

Aelina Starkov has never really stood out. Suddenly she finds she has a power she never knew about. And everything changes, she is whisked away to the kings castle to become a powerful Grisha under the darkling. But not everything is as it seems. Darkness and evil looms and Aelina must decide which side she is really on.

I loved Aelina, she's a bit dumb at times, but that's a common thing in YA literature. But I especially loved her best friend Mal. Yes, this is definitely a romantic paranormal and more so on the friendship of things. But I personally do not read a lot of them so this was enjoyable and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
