Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Book Review - NO SPOILERS.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - J.K. Rowling, John Kerr Tiffany, Jack Thorne

A non-spoilery review.

I'm a huge HP fan. I'm 26 and have been a fan since third grade. That being said, I was extremely hesitant going in to read this one. I knew it wasn't written by Rowling, I knew it wasn't an actual book. But, it wasn't even the play/script writing that bothered me. The plot just doesn't make sense. It comes off silly and lazy. I disliked that they brought back certain characters but then had characters not in the entire show-- that really should have been there all along.

I see why people will either love or hate this. I did enjoy the characters, its the only thing that kept me reading. But, the magic felt lost. The writing felt lazy. Maybe it comes off better as a live show - as I have heard good things from people who have gone to see it. I'm just feeling so underwhelmed by this story. Even more so than I thought I would be.

I didn't buy this one and I don't plan to. I think I'll just reminisce in the actual original HP stories and relieve my childhood through those.
