This is a fun and quick read by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Another paranormal romance with just enough humor and whit added. I'm quickly learning that Armentrout is excellent at this genre. She knows her characters and knows when to add the much needed humor. I can't wait to read more by her.
17 year old Layla has always wanted normalcy, to be a normal high schooler, to go to prom, graduate, everything a normal teen has. Instead she's raised by the Warden's and her job is to tag and hunt down demons to save humans. Even if it means keeping who she really is a secret. When she meets the demon Roth Layla knows she should stay away, especially since her long time crush, Zayne tells her to. But there's something about Roth that clings to her and she thinks maybe she is meant to join her kind especially when evil is about to rise.
This wasn't nearly as much fun as the Lux series, so far, at least. I like Katy much more as a character than Layla. However, Roth was very enjoyably to read about, as well as Zayne. I had a hard time choosing who I liked more. I'm definitely going to read the next one and am looking forward to seeing where Armentrout takes this series. Hoping it improves just as much as Lux did.
