Batman Nightwalker Book Review

Batman: Nightwalker (DC Icons Series) - Marie Lu

I read this in under two hours and it wasn't bad or anything just not very memorable. I don't think I'll remember the plot in a year or even a few months.

Marie Lu is a good wrriter, I enjoyed her series but couldn't even finish Warcross-- it bored me. With Batman its just another YA about a teen who lost his parents meets a girl and falls in love with her. Just add Batman to the mix and its a DC series.

So fun, and a quick read but nothing special.

Realease Book Review

Release - Patrick Ness

I love The Chaos Walking series and Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. But I feel like, for me anyway, he's gone downhill from there. Including this book. I just haven't really liked them.

I liked Adam and the fact that he is a gay protagonist. But there is a weird fantasy plotline filled in that is completely separate. I couldn't figure it out. I'm sure it is supposed to be some metaphor. If someone understands what this book was about in the end I'd love an explanation.

It's not one I would really recommend its just too weird for my liking.

The Red Bandanna Book Review

The Red Bandanna: A life, A Choice, A Legacy - Tom Rinaldi

I believe this is the adult book but I couldn't find the children's version which is what I read. Same author just a shortened, simplified version.

This was really good. I do feel like I need to read the adult book now. But I would definitely recommend this to kids, it flows really well and doesn't feel like a nonfiction story. I definitely cried a bit reading this, especially since I'm old enough to remember 9/11. I was in 6th grade.

Its hard to believe many kids now don't know this day and I feel like this book does a good job putting the panic and fear that people, especially people in NYC went through on that day. Welles is a beautiful person and a hero that we should all know about. I personally had no idea about this man until reading this book

Love, Life and the List Book Review

Love, Life, and the List - Kasie West

Cute, fluffy but very predictable. I really enjoyed this. Its a typical YA fluff but I knew that going in. Its the whole best friend loves each other type story---but I am a total sucker for those. Kasie West seems to be hit or miss for me. I either love or hate her books. So I'm really happy that I enjoyed this one since I was definitely looking forward to it.

Truthers Book Review

Truthers (Fiction - Young Adult) - Geoffrey Girard

Two stars is being kind. Truthers has a good premise and I like the idea of the plot, a girl born after 9/11 is thrown into conspiracy theories and trying to figure out what happened. But I honestly can't see any high schooler or young adult actually enjoying this. The plot is weak, its a lot of facts about 9/11 thrown at you. I barely finished and got really bored.

I honestly skimmed a lot of it but feel like I didn't miss much. I'm not really into the whole conspiracy thing with 9/11 but even so this could have been done a lot better than it was.

Wicked Book Review

Wicked - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half a star if anything off because the ending is a bit predictable. I think Armentrout wanted a shocking ending but I guessed it as soon as we knew the plot line. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this the first time and just as much the second time. Already started listening to book two. I highly recommend the audio books for these.

Lover Mine Book Review

Lover Mine - J.R. Ward

EH, I think there are just way too many books in this series. And I listen to these. 19 discs is LONG. Too long. I enjoyed John and Zhex. The rest, I kind of already forget? It just doesn't need to be as long as it is. As with pretty much this entire series.

Moonlight Sins Book Review

Moonlight Sins - Jennifer L. Armentrout

This was much more adult than Armentrouts other New Adult/Young Adult books. I still enjoyed it, but it has some pretty steamy scenes. I loved the first half and the mysterious Lucien and his family. But the last half felt a little flat to me, I wanted to know more about Julia and her past. I don't want to spoil it but the entire ending wasn't phenomenal and felt a tad rushed. That being said, I still really enjoyed it and found it to be a fast paced read.

Shattered by Helen Hardt

Shattered (Steel Brothers Saga) - Helen Hardt

Playing Patience Book Review

Playing Patience - Tabatha Vargo

Eh. Too many bad things happening to one character.

Tower of Dawn Book Review

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass) - Sarah J. Maas

3.5/5 stars. This might be my least favorite one yet. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. I liked Chaol and Irene. I could care less about the other characters. It was different seeing this series in another perspective. I do feel like not a ton happened in this book. A lot of Chaol being hurt and trying to recover from his injury (which I don't mind). I think, at this point, I'm just ready for this series to finally end.

Lover Avenged Book Review

Lover Avenged - J.R. Ward

I listened to the audio book for this and feel like I've been listening to it for forever. Its so long. I'd probably give it more than 3.5 stars if it didn't take me so long to get into the story. I do like these characters and loved Rhevenges plotline especially with his sister. I will most likely listen to a few of the next ones. I do thing Rhev is one of the better characters in this series.

The Wishtree Book Review

Wishtree - Katherine Applegate

I listened to the audio for this. No real thoughts to be honest. It reminds me a lot of The Giving Tree. An interesting concept but not my favorite book.

Under Pressure Book Review

Under Pressure - Lori Foster

Okay, so I usually like this author. I really enjoyed reading her MMA series. But this was pretty awful, especially the audiobook. Not much happened. It was very much a slow build until maybe the last 50 pages or so. And even the climax of the story wasn't very exciting. There are more in this series but I don't plan to read it. Definitely disappointing for a Lori Foster book.

Essential Cardigan Camo

Midi Skirt in Solid Mustard Ponte

His Stolen Bride

His Stolen Bride (Brother in Arms Book 2) - Shayla Black, Shelley Bradley

I listened to this book. It wasn't as terrible as I'd expected. Definitely uber cheesy. I've also have never read this author, I know she write some hard core romance (erotica) but I'd say this is very tame. There are some terrible analogies, and a horrible irish accent for the audio. BUT, I was expecting to not even finish this. So I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the overall plot. I may read this author again knowing to be careful of my selections.

It also definitely doesn't matter if you have read the first one. May have to give that one a try. I assume its about one of the other men in the books :).
