Forgotten Sundays: A Son's Story of Life, Loss, and Love from the Sidelines of the NFL - Gerry Sandusky

Growing up near Baltimore I have known the name Gerry Sandusky (no, not the Jerry Sandusky from Penn State) for most of my life. We listened to him on WBAL for Ravens games all the time. This book does him justice and is surprisingly heartbreaking.

Gerry Sandusky grew up on the sidelines with his father being a head coach of the Baltimore Colts and later the Miami Dolphins. Forgotten Sunday's tells of his history with football, the death of his brother, how his football career began, and the hatred he received after the Penn State fiasco.

I clearly remember him doing a segment directly after Jerry Sandusky was found out at Penn State. I'm surprised at how cruel people were to him and his family, just because he has the same name.

This is much more a book about a father and son relationship than a football career. Anybody who has lost someone close to them can relate to it. Surprisingly well written and a great book to recommend.
