I've been a fan of Lurlene McDaniel for years now. And I've been saying that she has a better understanding of teenagers and cancer than John Green ever will. But, that being said, this book just didn't do it for me. I didn't feel invested in any of the characters and was ready for it to be done.
Three girls, three friends. Each with a past and a heartbreak. They must deal with real life issues but they'll face them together
This was really disappointing. The writing style and dialogue is really bland. Things are very, very cliched. And I felt like McDaniel was trying to force feed you every issue there is in the world, instead of making it a meaningful story.
The Year of Luminous Love is told in three different perspectives, in which may have been better as separate books.
An over the top, and extremely cliched story but not an overly bad book to read. I won't be reading the sequel but am still a fan of McDaniel's.
