Leaving Time Book Review

Leaving Time - Jodi Picoult

Jodi Picoult continues to amaze me with each book she publishes. The only one I truly disliked was Lone Wolf. Leaving Time leaves you in jaw dropping shock because man, what an ending.

Jenna Metclaff has wondered and wondered why her mother would leave her behind. Now at age 13 she makes it her mission to find out what happened all those years ago. She gets together and unusual group, Virgil Stanhope (the cop who worked a case about her mother) and, Serenity a strange psychic with the expert ability in finding people who don't want to be found.

I'll be honest, while I did really enjoy this book (mainly because of the ending) I found myself skimming through Alice's POV (the mother). Its main focus being on elephants, most of which I found repetitive and a little bit sluggish. Other than that I am very pleased with Picoults new book and love that she's branching away from her typical court case stories. I have a feeling her fans will be pleased by this one - I know I was.
