What a story! As I expected. I didn't realize this was a young adult version until I started reading it. Which I'm not sure I really feel like there needs to be a young adult version. I'll have to read the adult version one of these days to see how different they are.
Louie Zampernini grew up wanting to be a runner. All of that changed when he was drafted to be a soldier in WWII. When his plane crashes Louie is lost at sea and finally found and held captive for several years. A story of strength and survival. One to be remembered.
I really did enjoy this. Louie was your average kid, a trouble maker and trying to outshine his older perfect brother. His tale of survival and torture was quite amazing to read about. It's a shame he died before seeing his movie, which I'm now really looking forward to watching.
