YA Fanatic

Well, I can certainly see why this book has become so popular on twitter and other social media. I have heard so much about Red Queen and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it because WOW. What a book. Completely drawn into everything. And the lines, and writing style, fantastic. 

"in the fairy tales, the poor girl smiles when she becomes princess. Right now, I don't know if I'll ever smile again." 

Mare Barrow is a red. Living in the poor village with her family. Her brothers are off fighting in the war against the silvers. When things go wrong, Mare is forced to live in the castle with the enemy. Who can she trust? Who will betray her?

I really liked Mare, Marven, and Cal. Even the back characters are fun to read about. I'm very excited to see where this series go because this is an author that know's how to write. 

I give it four stars and not five because I did see the ending coming. It didn't completely shock me and I wanted something more grand. But, I loved every bit of it nonetheless. Another great series to be involved with! Hopefully the wait for book two isn't too long....
