Pride and Prejudice Book Review

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen, Anna Quindlen

Because its a classic, I feel like I'm supposed to like Pride and Prejudice. I knew I would have a hard time sitting down and finishing it so I decided to listen to it. I zoned out several times but still found myself knowing exactly what was happening. Too much talking for my taste. Excellent writing, but nothing really happens.

Mr. Darcy is rude and has entirely too much self-pride. Of this, Elizabeth Bennett is certain. How could anyone ever want to acquaintance themselves with someone like him?

This entire book is literally the Bennett's complaining about Mr. Darcy and Mr. Whitcom and then falling in love with them and getting married. I did enjoy the end more than the beginning. And the narrator was excellent with these characters - thank goodness. But, its just not my thing. My first classic for my classic challenge, and I really hope I like others more than this one. We'll see.
