The Girl at Midnight Book Review

The Girl at Midnight - Melissa Grey

Definitely a fan of Melissa Grey. Absolutely love her writing style. Beautifully written with wonderful characters and an interesting plot line. Yes, its similar to Daughter of Smoke and Bone but I still loved it. My only complaint is that I knew exactly "what" the Firebird was as soon as I heard about it and proved to be correct in the end, so a bit predictable. Other than that, its a new favorite of mine and I can't wait for her sequel.

Echo has been a human living with the Avicen (a race of people who are full of magic and have feathers on their skin). She's always felt on the outside with no one quite liking her except for Rowen. Then she's instructed with finding the firebird and saving their race. She never expected to be working side by side with a Drakharin, the ever hate enemy of the Avicen. But she must do whatever she can to find the Firebird or the Avicen and her friends will die.

Just beautiful. Especially the audiobook. The narrator was perfect for this story and I will definitely be sure to listen to book two. Echo is a really fun and snarky character as well as the side characters, Caius, Ivy, Jasper, etc. I enjoyed reading about all of them. I cannot wait to see what happens in the sequel.
