Criss Cross Book Review

Criss Cross - Lynne Rae Perkins

The worst of the Newberry's so far. I was barely able to finish Criss Cross because nothing happened! We have 300 plus pages with no real plot. And, I can't say I'm a fan of this authors writing style. There was no real flow between sentences. Hard to believe this won a Newberry.

Criss Cross is told mainly between the POV'S of Hector and Debbie. The two are finding their way in the world and learning new things. The two meet and fall in love.

Ugh. I'm in a bit of a reading slump because of this book. There really isn't anything I liked about it. The writing style makes it a bit confusing and I'd be really curious if kids reading this have trouble following along.
