Winter is a monster of a series finale at over 800 pages long. And for most of it it didn't feel long. But I can't give it a full five starts even though I really did love the majority of it. I still think it could have been cut down a bit and the ending was a tad bit anti climatic for me. Again, over 800 pages for a book fourth in the series?
Winter has always turned her head at her Aunts evil beheading. But not anymore. Meanwhile, Cinder, Cress, Scarlet and the others are ready to start their rebellion against Levana and end her realm once and for all. But not without complications and separations. Will they be able to defeat the ever powerful Levena?
I absolutely devoured and adored most of this book. I especially love all the characters, my favorite in the end I think is Thorne and his snarky responses. Winter and Jacin are fantastic additions to the already wonderful team. And I do think this is my favorite of the series (especially the gorgeous cover). Winter is well worth the wait for fans of the Lunar Chronicles.
I can't say why but 'm just a tad bit disappointing at the somewhat anticlimactic ending without spoiling it. I think I just wanted a bit more from the major action scene and the way it turned out. But overall, I'm glad I read this series and I love where the characters are in the end. Meyer writes a beautifully in depth Dystopian with some favorite classic fairy tale characters. Which is why I think the Lunar Chronicles trumps all of the other Dystopians I have read so far.
