Sparks! Well this was fun and I have a new favorite curse word. This is certainly a series that is not for everyone, even I had a bit of trouble getting into it. There is heavy description on weaponry and war tactics. Boys will love this series for sure (I'm making my brother read it).
David has been about one thing his whole life, vengeance against his father's death and to kill the man who did it, Steelheart. The problem is Steelheart has a powerful army behind him, the Epics with special powers. But then David meets the resistance a group who calls themselves the Reckoners. When David becomes a part of this group he starts to think the might actually have a chance to beat the Epics and Steelheart. But it won't be easy and he'll find that not everyone is as trustworthy as he thinks.
It definitely took me a while to get invested, but I certainly am. The audiobook for Steelheart is amazing. I don't know if I would have finished it if I wasn't listening to this book to be honest.
But, I fell in love with the narrator and this world. I'm surprised this is a three part series because it easily could have ended with Steelheart being a stand a lone. I'm hoping the next two will prove to be just as much of a whirlwind and just as fun.
Looking forward to read many more of Brandon Sandersons books and finishing the Steelheart series as well.
