This is a children's classic that I am surprised I have never read. And I really loved it. It's funny, tragic and one to remember. Easy to see why its read over and over and so popular.
Junior is a cartoonist living in an Indian reservation. But all he wants to do is get out. And one day he decides to do just that and goes to the Rearding school where all white kids go. He's terrified but won't be brought down by bullies even when his best friend from the res starts to hate him.
This is a bit of an odd book. But it does have heart. I can see many young kids reading this and loving the odd conversations and funny pictures.
