I wasn't expecting a lot with this book. But I was still disappointed. I was so bored, I'm surprised I even finished it. The characters didn't interest me, their background stories were flat and the romance wasn't all that great.
Aidan has sworn off women, he hates who he was in the past and wants to change that. Shelby sure does make that difficult. She has a rough past but loves working at the bakery and her friends in Fools Gold. When her and Aidan meet the two become fast friends. With Aidan's deal of swearing off women can they stay friends?
With romance novels I find you have to really like the characters to enjoy the book. And as stated, I really felt nothing for either of these two. The abuse in Shelby's background didn't feel necessary and never really moved the plot along.
I've only read a few of Susan Mallery's book but am not a fan of the latest one in the Fool's Gold series.
