"And they held each other in stillness until a silver dawn broke the horizon."
It's hard to believe The Wrath and the Dawn is a debut novel. It's so damn well written. So many quotable moments between the characters. And going in, I knew nothing about A Thousand and One Nights so I have nothing to relate this too. But that ended up not mattering much.
Shahrzard has entered the castle to become Caliph Kahlid wife. All in revenge for her friend's death. However, she has to avoid becoming the next wife Kahlid kills. Each night that goes on, her death comes closer. What she didn't expect? Was that Kahlid to be completely the opposite of her hatred towards him.
Swoon, I want more of these two. There is romance heavily involved in this story. But I loved it. Especially starting half way through the book.
I can't wait to read The Rose and the Dagger and finish off this series. So, good.
