Empire of Storms Book Review

Empire of Storms - Sarah J. Maas

I am really glad I re-read the series before starting this one. It's definitely better than Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows, especially QOS. I didn't feel like it dragged as much as those two. There are some epic fighting scenes throughout. And I like Rowan a lot more in this one.

Aelin is destined to become Queen of Terrasen. But before that, she must defeat the evil lurking in their world. Along with her are Dorrian, Aiedon, Lyssandra and of course Rowan. She must make allies in order to win this war. The question is, will Aelin be able to do what she must to save the world from shattering to pieces?

I never thoroughly enjoyed Manon's story in the last two books, but I loved her story here. Especially since they finally all come together. This series does really remind me of LOTR, fighting to get peace to their world, lots of separation and long traveling. Magic and evil throughout.

The one thing I can see a lot of people not liking about EOS is that there is zero Chaol. I imagine he will reappear in the next book and we'll find out what he has been up to but I did miss him in this one.

Lyssandra is probably my favorite character, she becomes such a bad ass in EOS, I want her powers. Also love to Dorrian, I still am upset over what happened to Sorcha.

I am feeling ready for this series to end, its becoming very long. But that being said, I can't wait to find out what happens in the next installment.

My favorite still remains to be The Assassin's Blade, the novella's. You should definitely read them for this book as many characters reappear (which was pretty awesome).
