Dark Matter Book Review

Dark Matter: A Novel - Blake Crouch

3.5/5 stars

So I'm not as wowed by this as everyone else is. I definitely think its a good book and would make a really fun movie. It's one of those on the edge of your seats type thrillers that keeps you wanting more until you find out what the heck is going on.

Jason Dessen wakes up one morning ready for a regular day with his wife Daniela and his teenaged son, Charlie. But then he gets kidnapped and wakes up to realize everything he thought he had is now gone. He's not even a college professor when he awakes again, he's a genius scientist

Dark Matter is quite scary when you really think about the plot and how big the world really is. I thought the ending was a bit silly (I think I just watch and read too much sci fi to be wowed any more).

The thing that bothered me the most about this book is the choppy, incomplete sentences. It seems to be a popular writing style now and I'm not sure I really like it. I'd rather read writing styles similar to Sarah J. Maas.
