The Girl at Midnight Book Review

The Girl at Midnight - Melissa Grey

I am re-reading a lot of series so I remember them better for the new books that have come out this year. I have to say I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the first time around. I think the characters are a bit bland and it really isn't anything new, and I have to compare it to books like Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Throne of Glass and Red Queen which I enjoyed so much more.

Echo is a thief who pickpockets people in New York City for her band of friends. Little does she know there is much more to her and the legend of the firebird then she thinks, especially when Cauis and Rowan show up.

I thought Echo was a bit of a boring character. She didn't interest me much even with the romance added in. I am looking forward to seeing where the next one goes. A good fantasy for someone looking for that extra series to read.
