This is such a fun book! I urge all my library and bookish friends to read this (that pretty much means everyone on GoodReads!)
Our main character, Clay has just lost is job due to the growing recession. He starts a job at Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore (yes, its really open 24 hours). He gains the night shift where very few customers come in and when they do, he has to write them down in a log, almost like a story.
Clay soon finds this store is a puzzle among puzzles. It really has a National Treasure and The Librarian feel to it. From secret codes, to mysterious customers, and beyond this book is just pure fun. There are fantastic characters, fun bookish quotes and objects throughout with a mix of today's ever growing technology.
Definitely one of my new favorites and something I will be recommending many of my friends to read!
