Okay, I read this book beclause my mom's book club read it. I'm definitely glad I did. I was hooked from literally page one until the very end. Its a mystery, thriller, and very suspensful. But also has you really thinking.
A 14 year old is found dead. Randy Barber, our narrarator for this story is put on as the D.A. the case. But quickly into the story his own 14 year old son is being charged with murder. Twists and turns beging to unfold. We learn more and more about Jacob and about Randy's family. The question throughout the entire book is did Jacob (Randy's son) really murder Ben?
I think if you're a parent this type of book might relate to you more than somebody of my age. Though, I still enjoyed the suspense and writing style of the book.
I was however, really disappointed in the ending. It felt way too "Jodi Picoult" to me (I've read most of her books). I won't say much more because it would spoil it. But, four stars for keeping me hooked throughout but leaving me somewhat dissapointed by the end.
