*Warning, definitely has spoilers for book one and two*
Marie Lu knows her stuff. She knows her characters, her world. Most of all she damn well knows how to finish a Dystopian series. This is by far my favorite Dystopian book of any young adult series out there (I've read many of them.)
"He is a Legend, She is a Prodigy, who will be Champion?"
We find Day and June months after Legend, months after Day found out that he's sick with a new spreading disease with months to live. Day is in a hospital in Los Angelas, June is side by side with the new Elector, Anden, as the Princeps-Elect. It's been months since they've spoken to one another. When Anden finds out what the cure may be, Day has to choose between sacrifice of those he loves, or letting the Republic fall to the colonies.
Filled packed with action, scenes that wrench your heart open, and non-stop wonder at how Lu has created this world, Champion does not fail to leave you satisfied and happy with the ending of Legend. This gut-wrenching end makes you want to weep and smile for both Day and June.
I love the set ups of these books, with both Day and Junes perspective in different colors and fonts making it even easier to remember who is who. The covers are beautiful yet simple. The structure leading up to Champion is brilliant. If you haven't started this series yet, I highly suggest you do, it won't leave you disappointed in its ending that's for sure!
