This is one of those books I wasn't even planning to read and only did because my mom pulled it off the shelf at her bookstore. But, boy am I glad I did! Written, and written well, by local author M.D Waters. A science fiction suspense, similar to that of The Host and Gone Girl, kept me hooked from page one until the very end.
Emma, a young woman surviving a serious accident. She doesn't remember the accident, she just knows some serious work was done on her body to fix the damage. Her loving husband, Declan, will do anything he can to help save her (pulling her into the perfect marriage), along with the mysterious Doctor, Travista.
When a voice in Emma's head starts showing her things, she wonders if their memories, if they happened to her. She tries to put the pieces together and figure out if Declan is really trustworthy or if he's even her husband.
It's a suspense and Dystopian-esque novel filled with twists and turns in every chapter. For a debut novel this is truly remarkable story.
Though, because I've read The Host, and Gone Girl, I found myself easily figuring out the ending but that didn't deter me from loving the book.
The sequel, and final book, comes out in July, and I know I'll be reading it the date its out.
