Pandemonium Book Review

Pandemonium - Lauren Oliver

*Spoilers for Book One*

I really, really enjoyed listening to the first one of this series. And was really hoping this one would be just as good. But, I couldn't get into it as much. I think I enjoyed the romance part of Delirium so much that Pandemonium, in comparison, bored me more than anything.

Picking up right where we left of Lena finds herself in the wild, a new life and a whole new world. But one thing is missing, Alex. Months go by and she has to get over the fact that he is probably dead. She has made new friends with the resistance and the "invalids."

When they come up with a plan to attack the government and its leaders, Lena is kidnapped along with a famous son, Julian. In order to survive they must put aside their differences and work together.

This was written very differently from Delirium, told in past and present chapters it takes a while to really get into the story. As soon as Julian entered I knew exactly how the book was going to end and found it very predictable. Definitely a sophomore slump for me. I have already started the third and it will be interesting to see how Lauren Oliver ends it all.

Audio Book: Sarah Drew is really fun to listen to, especially since I'm currently watching her on Grey's Anatomy. She does a fantastic job with the different voices and emotions. At points, she does feel a little dull but I think that's the whole idea of this world and Lena. Would recommend this series as an audio book.
